Authentic Viennese cuisine

Our classic wine tavern dishes have all more than one thing in common: they are homemade, delicious and completely natural. That's why chef Cornelia Zahel prepares our organic sourdough bread, spreads and chutneys, as well as our pastries, without any preservatives.
What we do preserve are our traditional recipes. For example, the mother Cornelia bakes the Buchteln according to one of our old traditional recipes, and the son Florian reinterprets the recipe. Note: order the Junior Buchteln (smaller Buchteln with dip).

Outdoor dining area, cosy lounge and Viennese flair

In our historic rooms, everyone is sure to find the right ambience for celebrating, organizing and enjoying. In our historic rooms, everyone is sure to find the perfect setting for celebrating, hosting events and enjoying themselves. Whether in the wine press house, the rustic ‘Stüberl’ or the garden pergola – we are sure to have the right place for a traditional Viennese wine tavern experience.

The outdoor dining area

A green oasis in the city! A particular highlight is the outdoor dining area, which features old trees and colourful flowers. The garden's full potential was realised during the major renovation. Whether you're looking for a cosy spot for two, a family-friendly table near the playground or a cosy, weather-protected spot in the gazebo, you can find your own little piece of garden paradise here.

The bar

It has a long history steeped in tradition. Originally built around 400 years ago by Maria Theresa as a school, the bar is our oldest room. In 1930, our great-grandparents opened the wine tavern on Maurer's main square for the first time. At that time, the bar room was the only room available. During the 2021 renovation, care was taken to preserve the original farmhouse charm while adding a new flair. The taproom is ideal for intimate evenings for two or casual family dinners. It can accommodate group reservations of between 12 and 24 people.

The parlor

The parlor is a cosy and comfortable place to relax. It is adorned with rustic wood panelling crafted from 200-year-old timber. The Stüberl originally served two purposes. The front area was used to store firewood and coal, while the rear area housed livestock. Now, idyllic pictures serve as reminders of those times. To get an idea of what a farmhouse looked like in the old days, marvel at the drawings made by the great-grandfather. It can be booked for between 40 and 50 people, with exclusive use of the buffet area.

The Veranda

The modern original. Built from scratch in 2003, the Veranda is the only one of our rooms with this distinction. It is characterised by light wood, large windows and an abundance of natural light. At its heart stands an old maple tree around which the Veranda was built, creating a miniature courtyard. This is why the Veranda is often referred to as a winter garden.

The wine press house

The perfect venue for celebrations and social gatherings. As its name suggests, the Press House was originally used for processing harvested grapes. The small building was listed as a historic monument in 2012. It is particularly well-suited to family celebrations and corporate events. Groups of at least 25 people (up to a maximum of 40) who order a buffet can book the Presshaus for exclusive use. A large window front that opens completely onto the outdoor dining area makes the Presshaus extremely versatile in all weather conditions and seasons.
