Über uns
Bei Zahel ist Wein schon von Anfang an Familiensache. Auch wenn Weingut und Heuriger über die Jahre gewachsen sind, ein Familienbetrieb sind wir bis heute geblieben.

Philosophy
A family affair right from the start
Thinking ahead
Richard Zahel continues to lovingly look after the vineyards and the traditional wine tavern. Son Valentin supports his father in the winery and daughter Franziska is responsible for creative tasks and, together with son Florian, for the Heurigen.
Family business
Together with a small, fine team, they ensure that the traditional business continues to grow and is successful. A very small family business has become a somewhat larger family business. However, we have remained true to the craft, nature and the Wiener Gemischter Satz to this day.

History
A look at our history
Family business
Until around 30 years ago, the winery and wine tavern had less than one hectare of vineyards and just four wine tables. In 1989, Richard Zahel decided to hang up his racing shoes and dedicate himself to viticulture instead. In the same year, Wiener Gemischter Satz appeared on the Zahel labels for the first time. A lot has happened since then. Today we cultivate 35 hectares of vineyards in all of the city's vineyards. A new cellar, new wines and many small innovations have been added.
A very small family business has become a somewhat larger family business.

It's the little things that make the difference'
It's not just the grape, the vintage, the terroir, but also the decisions, the people, the actions that make the difference in the production of our wine.
